Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course
Overview
Coping with Divorce is an educational program designed for separating and divorcing parents. The primary goal is to minimize the potential emotional and psychological consequences to the family associated with the process of divorce. This live class serves the best interest of children by teaching their parents about the most important issues related to families in transition. The class will support parents and enhance their ability to comfort and care for their child(ren) during the changes that are to come.
The course was originally approved in 2000 by the Ninth and Eighteenth Circuit Courts of Florida, and is now approved by the State of Florida Department of Children and Families. John Grbac, Psy.D., P.L. is an approved Provider of this course, in compliance with Section 61.21 of the Florida Statutes and Rule Chapter 65C-32, F.A.C. This live workshop is presented in a four-hour session, with a convenient weekend schedule at the office of Orlando Psychology Associates.
Dr. Grbac and his staff are able to deliver an influential presentation of sensitive information involving a very emotional subject matter for families in transition. All participants who successfully attend the course will receive a certificate of completion.
Program Goals
- Increase parental awareness of the numerous issues that impact children of divorce.
- Learn about the emotional/psychological concerns and needs of children in transition.
- Develop coping strategies for child and parent problems frequently associated with divorce.
- Increase a parent’s understanding of legal issues and awareness of community resources.
- Gain essential and effective communication skills that encourage healthy parent interactions and healthy child-parent relationships.

Plan to attend the seminar in which you have registered. Refunds are not issued under any circumstance.
Please do not bring children. If you prefer not to attend the same program as your child’s other parent, please make those arrangements prior to registration.
The day of class, please arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start to ensure credit for your attendance. Late arrivals will not be allowed access to the classroom. Full program attendance is required to receive a certificate of completion.
