Shanay Lilly, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in working with children and adolescents. With over eight years of clinical experience, Ms. Lilly has developed a talent for building rapport and gaining the trust of those she serves using a client-centered approach. She provides assistance to children and adolescents with issues of traumatic-stress, anxiety, depression, anger management, grief/loss, divorce, and substance abuse. Ms. Lilly also treats adults who struggle with addictions/substance abuse, traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression.
In 2009, Ms. Lilly received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Jacksonville University. She later earned her Masters of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in 2012.
Treatment
With a special talent for working with children and adolescents, Ms. Lilly has dedicated her efforts to assisting youth in alleviating the pain associated with distressing life experiences and reaching their highest potential. As a certified clinician in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and trained clinician in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ms. Lilly has the skills to appropriately and effectively address many issues associated with trauma. One of her most distinguished experiences as a mental health counselor involved working in collaboration with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network to provide trauma-focused counseling services for children between the ages of 10 and 18.
Ms. Lilly served as Clinical Director at a residential substance abuse program for women, as well as at a high-risk residential facility for adolescent males. While providing services and clinical oversight at the adolescent male facility, Ms. Lilly gained valuable experience in caring for clients and juvenile offenders who required assistance with conduct issues, anger management, crisis intervention, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD), and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Community
Ms. Lilly is a member of The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), International Association of Trauma Professionals, and the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association (FADAA). She was awarded FADAA’s 2016 Clinician of the Year for outstanding performance in providing services to children and families.
